We are aware that we can send out numerous letters to patients for various reasons, which can be confusing at times. However, we feel this is an important way of keeping systems safe and ensuring the best care.

With this in mind, we have agreed to make some small changes.

  • Doctors and nurses will advise patients at appointments to contact the practice for results of investigations in the usual way.
  • In the case of abnormal results, the practice will wait a period of a month and send out a letter then if it is clear that the patient has not contacted the practice for their results.

Any result requiring urgent attention will be dealt with in the usual way.
